I recently talked to Derrick Kosinksi again to conclude the second installment of my interview with him, but as you might know Derrick put his game face on once again for yet another installment of the Real World/Road Rules Reality Challenges: The Duel. Before the Duel began though, I sat down with Derrick to talk up some Fresh Meat after the challenge was over.

StaticNoise: Does it kill you that you come so close to winning these challenges?
Derrick Kosinski:
It definitely sucks.

SN: You came so close to getting in the final round of the Gauntlet and Fresh Meat challenges.
DK:
It’s not how many times you fall; it’s how many times you get back up. I still have motivation and drive to be successful in life.

SN: What were your intentions when going into the Reunion special?
DK:
There were some things that the game is made up of deceiving things. You don’t know who to trust and at some point you get confused of whom to trust. The challenge you learn more about the people around you and when it comes down to play the game it comes down to the decision whether you make the touchdown or the field goal. I left it in God’s hands.

SN: Were you pissed that Wes got to make it to the finals and you didn’t? It seemed like he didn’t deserve to get there on his first time on a challenge.
DK:
You work hard to get there. I backed him up as much as I did, even though he probably doesn’t give a fuck. I wasn’t intentionally mad at him. It was more of the decisions I’ve made along the way. Sometimes I allow myself to get too close to people because I care and have a heart.

SN: How is Diem doing? Are you still in touch with her? How are her treatments going?
DK:
I talk to her all the time. As far as her treatments are going. You have to tune into the Duel.

Derrick is currently participating in MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Reality Competition called, the Duel. Catch it on MTV every Thursday night at 10 PM EST. As far as any acting plans, stay tuned for his role in the upcoming horror flick, Hyenas, which should either be out in theaters or DVD by summer of 2007.
